We’re celebrating 150+ years in Vernon County and we hope you will make note of the many positive directions our mid-American, values-centered community is headed. We truly have become the hub for recreational, educational, medical and industrial growth in our region.

Peter's Championship Golf Course, and a variety of other outdoor recreational activites.   An equal number of guests visit our conservation areas to hunt, fish, bird-watch, or camp. And if you prefer the indoors, we have entertaining plays put on by our local Community Council of Performing Arts, Cottey College has many events from sports, theater, dance, and art galleries, come and see what we have for yourself!

Nevada has an entrepreneurial atmosphere and strong successes in community development, making it very attractive to business' of any size. Reportedly, Nevada has one of the lowest cost of living indexes in the US, which certainly equates to a number of new residents moving into our community in recent months.
