Incomes simply 'stetch further' in the Nevada area.  That means area residents have more income for discretionary expenditures that enhance the quality of life int he area.

In the most recent cost-of-living survey, with the national average being 100% Nevada's overall cost of living was rated at 86.2 percentile.  With 100 again respresnting the norm, nevada fared especially well in the areas of housing, medical costs, and utilities, with respective rating in those areas of 79.5, 77.8, and 79.5.

The cost of housing and local taxes is among the most affordable features of living in the Nevada area..

The average cost of a house in the area is $72,000, according to the Five-County Board of Realtors.  Of course less expensive and much more luxurious housing units are availble to suit virtually every taste and budget.

Area property taxes are a real bargin.  the taxes on a hosue in Center Township, outside the city limits, with a market value of $100,000 would be $812.  the same house, inside the city limits and located in Center Township would have annual property taxes of approximately $952.

As the above information suggests, individual and family incomes are more readily available for discrestionary expenditures in the Nevada area.  Greater discrestionary purchasing power means local residetns enjoy a higher quality of life than their counterparts in more expensive areas of the country.
