The Chamber sponsors many events through the year including 4th Friday Coffee, Nevada After Hours, monthly luncheons, ribbon cuttings and our annual banquet. Stay up to date with our Chamber Event Calendar.

Our coffee networks and ribbon cuttings provide a great opportunity for members to get to know other members and their operations better. Check us out, we're the area's oldest and largest business member network 'creating an atmosphere for economic prosperity' throughout Nevada and Vernon County. Did you know any business, organization, youth program or non-profit can become a member of the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce? For pennies a day, it's the best approach to get your word out or to support us as your 'community growth partner'.

JANUARY 2010
AWARDS LUNCHEON -- will be held on Friday, January 8th at Service Edge Cafe. Chamber awards luncheon will be held in the lower level of the Nevada TeleCenter, Bowman Building.... pacesetter awards will be given. RSVP 667-5300 or email Cindy.

Congrats to our Award recipients! Wayne Neal/Cottey College, Community Betterment/Crowder College, and the Individual Pacesetter Award went to Dr. Erik Andersen.

FEBRUARY 2010

CHAMBER MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON will be on February 12th, 2010 at noon. Members and their invited guests are encouraged to attend these fun, yet informational sessions. Our program will be "City and County Projections- 2010 Forecast" and will be held at the Nevada Country Club. RIBBON CUTTING! - NRMC will be having a ribbon cutting on February 25, 2010 at 5:30pm at the new NowCare Clinic at 345 S. Barrett.

CHAMBER GALA will be held February 27, 2010 7pm-10pm ...do not miss the Chamber event of the year! We've put a new twist to it and calling it "Putting on the Ritz!" Come dressed in black and white and from casual to tuxedos and gowns! For $25 per member and $30 for non-members you will enjoy a lively night of gambling ($100 in free chips), dancing, great food, and LIVE AUCTION as well as our silent auction. The live auction is new and we will be auctioning some great "life experiences" How about a getaway in Eureka Springs, AR, or take a 20 minute ride in a helicoptor! MARCH 2010

RIBBON CUTTING! - Max Motors will be having their ribbon cutting! Monday March 8th at 1 pm at 1405 N. Osage Blvd.

CHAMBER MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON will be on March 12th, 2010 at noon. MODot will be our speaker. Luncheon will be held the Nevada Country Club.

RIBBON CUTTING at Soleil Tan 1801 W. Austin. We will celebrate their opening at 5 pm March 12th.

RETAIL SPRING FLING OPEN HOUSES will be hosted at various chamber merchant locations. Our retail committee will be celebrating spring and great new product lines available at each member location. The dates will vary from member to member, some will be having Spring Fling on Friday and others on Saturday, April 2nd and 3rd.

MAY 2010

CHOICES Program for middle school students will be offered by trained chamber leaders. 8th grade students will be mentored during a 2 day process allowing for interactive dialogues and exercises geared to help students make better choices for their future. Sponsorships are available for area businesses to support the CHOICES program, offered to every 8th grade student in Vernon County at no cost.

CHAMBER BREAKFAST!!! We will be having a Chamber Breakfast at the Senior Center on Friday, May 14 at 8am! 301 N. Main. You know their cinnamon rolls are hard to refuse!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 3rd is National Night Out...Say Goodbye to crime and drugs and party with your community at the Nevada Family Aquatics Center's Walton Pool complex....evening fun for the whole family with giveaways, area service agency participation and all emergency response teams available for the fun. contact Robin McHugh at 417.448.2742 to participate.

MEMBERS' TALK OF THE TOWN BREAKFAST will be held on Friday, October 8th at 8AM RSVP by Noon Thursday, October 8th 417.667.5300. Legislative updates, community elected officials present issues directed at improving the general business and economic climate of the area. Community breakfast is open to everyone-- twice a year occurence intended to inform, enlighten & encourage membership! Location to be determined.

RETAIL HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSES will be hosted by various Nevada merchants. Holiday gift giving and decorating ideas galore beginning on Friday November 5th and continuing at most stores on Saturday, November 6th. More details at the chamber office 417.667.5300.

1ST FRIDAY HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE --December 3th Chamber coffee hour is 8-9am hosted by University of Missouri Extension Center, lower level courthouse- 8am-2pm open house hours. Chamber members welcome to great refreshments and holiday network..an annual tradition!

ANNUAL VERNON COUNTY HOLIDAY PARADE... Saturday, December 4th-- Christmas comes but once a year- join us for some holiday cheer! More than 60 entries each year with lights, costumes and royalty from the Miss Merry Christmas pageant. Parade lines up at Cherry and Cedar Streets. Entries at the Chamber office, 225 West Austin, lower level. Time for the parade this year is 2 pm. Downtown merchants will be offering special Parade Day promotions and chamber bucks giveaways!
